a week ago from today..

its so funny when u're there in the place it just feels like its nothing. it didn't even feel like i was in a different place at that time. but once u get home and think about it..that's when u get all sentimental. alot happened during my trip.well not really alot , but for me that was a lot since i usually just stay home and all. its just weird how exactly a week ago from today i was there ..1140pm? i was in the hotel lobby waiting for my luggage to be delivered..(yeah i gotta tell u about that..wait, i think i actually did on my last piece 'flight mishaps')..but yeah..the first night was already a crazy night for me. i still have to write about what happened in my trip. i just missed Miami all of a sudden, knowing that i didn't even consider Florida as one of my choices to go for vacation. weird noh..! i will always treasure this trip. never thought i would say this but...miss ko Miami. (sigh)

flight mishaps

i don't even know where to begin. i guess I'll start from the time i left the house.as soon as my car service arrived that's where my adventure began. i got to JFK around 950am, a 20 min drive from my house.thank God there weren't any traffic. my flight was @ 1135am . i was thinking of doing the curbside check-in but i was afraid that my luggage would get lost so i opted to do the traditional way of checking in the bags which is going inside the airport, waiting in line and all. when i got to the American airlines section the line was a lil long than i expected. i only had to check in one baggage and get my boarding pass. i would've done the self service booth since i had the e-ticket but i had like an hour and i didn't wanna take any chances. maybe if i came in like 2 hours before my flight i would've experimented with the self service line. anyways, after checking in and going through security i waited at the gate. i had a direct flight going there so it would only take me 2 hours and 30 mins. of course the flight was delayed. and as soon as we boarded we had to wait another 30 mins. so in total the flight was delayed for an hour. and that's where it all started. i must say American airlines is really cheap. the only thing u could get for free are the drinks. even if you wanted peanuts u have to buy it. to think they should offer more since they're losing business from what happened on 9/11. so that pissed me off as well. I'm glad that i decided to eat breakfast before go in to the airport or else i would've probably collapsed from starvation. when i got to Miami int'l airport (MIA), Kai already called and informed me that she was already there so i told her to meet me at baggage claim. little did i know that i wasn't waiting for anything since they lost my luggage! somehow i knew this was going to happen since Ive been thinking about this for like a week. i mean u know how it is in the movies..wherein the airline loses the luggage and they just deliver it to your house. i couldn't believe what was happening to me. at that point i thought this will not be a good trip for me. so i went to baggage claim service and reported the situation. they told me the aircraft could only hold a specific weight and all before it could take off. all extra baggage will be placed on the next flight. they said my luggage should be on the next flight coming in to MIA from JFK..and that flight doesn't come in till 820pm. i got to MIA at 4pm.they said if i want they could just deliver it to my hotel. last shift for delivering baggage was at 11pm. at that point i just wanted to go to the hotel .i couldn't believe that i was stressed out already on my first day of vacation.

so what happened going back to JFK? knowing that i wont be flying American airlines anymore gave me some relief after what i experienced with them losing my luggage. this time i was flying delta airlines..but i have a connecting flight in Cincinnati, Ohio. everything was going great.i left extra early from the hotel so i could check in my bags and made sure that they will get to new york. but then again my flight was delayed again for like 40 mins since they were working on the AC. all of a sudden it hit me..if I'm late 40 mins i would also be late for my connecting flight. i would've only had to wait 30 mins in Ohio before i flew to NY. i was hoping that that flight would be delayed since all my flights from this trip was all delayed. we landed in Ohio 316pm and my next flight was scheduled for 315. i really felt i was in the movies. u know..when u run in the airport catching the next flight hoping that they wont leave u kinda thing?..what are the chances? well that was the only flight that i would've been in that was on time. so i missed my flight. at this point i couldn't believe what was happening to me. going to Florida i lose my luggage, and going back to NY i miss my flight. surreal right! i know!..so i went to customer service and they said the next flight leaving Ohio going to JFK was at 725pm..which means i have to wait for like 4 hours. they also gave me a meal voucher worth 7 bucks . at that point i called Nicole, Alan, mark, and Karen. they all said the same thing at this point..'YOU GOTTA BE KIDDING ME?!'

with all this being said ,i must say this was a surreal experience. hey at least i know what to do the next time this happens. no regrets..it actually spiced up my trip.LOLZ!

* i will be writing about my whole trip, just wanted to get the flight mishaps out of the way* wink!

"transFeRmeRs"- by manila bulletin columnist Joey de Leon

Message: joey de leon is one wise man! that's why i will always be a kapuso..at heart!you would think that kris aquino(who i also think is wise) had the ball in her court, so to speak, but joey de leon got the last laugh.

A little more than a week ago, I read somewhere in this paper that someone(Kris Aquino) in the Kapamilya network remarked that, "Ang kapamilya hindi napapalitan, pero ang puso pwedeng i-transplant," obviously referring to the well-publicized and quite controversial transfer of a former known kapuso to their side (Angel Locsin).

Well, maybe I thought, they even got an ovation for that statement from their audience and followers. And maybe too, the person who thought of it found the idea cute and brilliant. Hmmm... but you know, throughout history, there havebeen lines spoken, and even by thegreatest of men, which when carefullyexamined closely, are silly and untrue.

Take for instance 'You can't have your cake and eat it, too.' And, 'the best things in life are free.' Not quite true, right? Yung first one pwede siguro if you're a big star in television andyou have a lot of what you call in thebusiness exchange deals.

Or you're a young goddess of a woman and you have a filthy rich provider who islike a faucet hot and cold. But all these have a "kapalit," kaya nga exchange deal, eh. In the first one, thebig star will have to plug always. And in the second one, the sexy goddess will always be plugged.
Transferring networks, or even working for some of these TV stations at the same time ("grossing the net"or"inter-networking") is not new to me.Remember, I belong to the only daily show in Philippine TV history, or maybethe world, which have aired in three different major networks; surviving and outlasting five presidents... and still counting! Yes, we are the KONTOT (KingsOf Network Transfers On Television)! We are the Transfermers!
That is why this issue about this angel from heaven, I mean seven, who transferred to you know where, is the least of anxieties. I really just findtheir statement so untrue and unfair, and I feel I need to react (and besides, wala akong article for this week).

s/p miami

I'm still a bit tired from my 'vacay' in Miami. i will definitely write something about it but I'm still busy downloading mad pics from the trip. I'll probably write about it this labor day weekend. thank God i only have to work for 2 days then its another long weekend for me. i posted some photos in my friendster account already. i also added some videos taken from our trip (thanks to my digicam which had like an hour sa video mode. buti na lang pala napabili ako ng bago cam. im loving my new camera) u could check out those videos on my photo site.

and counting...

i have five days left till i leave for miami..and seriously i need to get moving.i dont even have the slightest idea what im goin to bring with me.all i know is that i have an empty suitcase in my living room all ready for something to be put in. watch how i do all the packing and running around on wednesday night. im planning to leave work early that wednesday. i need to get my eyebrows waxed, manicure and pedicure, and im still thinking if i want my hair blown out that day. the thing is, i dont want to spend 10 bucks for my hair to be blown out straight then go swim in the pool the following day at the hotel. sayang lang u know. i dont even know what clothes to bring. bahala na siguro. i also have five days to work out. its been awhile since i havent worked out..hopefully there'll be a difference especially in the abdominal area. my stomach cannot look like before on my last beach trip. regardless ima be bloated anyways at that time coz i'll have my 'visitor' that week. its so weird how by this time of next week ima be in a different state, place, and moment. i wont be infront of a computer on a friday nite.

online business

well i finally opened my 2 -week overdue mail.lolz..2 bills i had to pay online coz i know if i mail it , it wont be there on time and then ima be charged with a late fee..which i dont want to happen. i also had to update my checking account, not that it has millions in it, but i just had to post some transactions that should've been there 2 weeks ago. then i have to do a transfer money from my dad's account to my account. you're probably thinking why im taking my dad's money..well that's because i can.LOLZ! i'll just do that over the phone.i guess that's what so good about the banks ova here..u could do bank transactions all day, 24/7, online or over the phone.talk about guarding your money!

i never did like doing business online. but hey, its much faster, it saves you time from writing checks out and mailing it, it saves you on stamps, the company gets ur payment right away, you get the confirmation right away, and it saves trees! the downside?..well if your computer hangs/crashes, and online hackers. but if you have an internet security program then there's really nothing to worry about.

all by myself

well its official..I'm literally all by myself...again! my dad and brother just left a couple of mins ago for pinas. u know sometimes you just want to get rid of them coz u're so annoyed with them ,but when that time comes that they leave, its still sad. i guess when it comes down to family u will really have that spot in your heart that will always forgive them no matter what..even if you have a dysfunctional family.

i really hope they have a safe flight. the only thing that makes me jealous is when everybody is there in pinas..together. even if our family disagrees with each other a lot to almost everything, its still classic how we make each other laugh our hearts out. i don't know...maybe its only our family that's like this..but then again, everybody has their own little dramas in life.

so there's really no use for friendster anymore.

procrastination

seriously i need to do something this weekend. but its so hard to move around and do something when 5 days a week im running my ass off at work. that's probably why i just wanna stay home and relax on the weekend. but this weekend i cant afford not to do anything.i dont know what's making me so irritable and impatient. is it working at sclafani-vitale?..is it that i just dont have time for non-sense stuff anymore coz im getting older?(remind me to write a piece about that)..am i just following the footstep of my aunt being an old maid? ..omg im procrastinating..abby!focus!!...alright, alright..i'll write about that some other time.

upgrade

in a span of 8 days i had to upgrade 2 important things..my cellphone and my digicam.

cELlpHonE-

now..im not the type of person that's into the latest model ng cellphone. hey as long as i could text and call somebody then im good to go. its ridiculous how some people spend almost half of their paycheck just for the latest model. dont get me wrong..u have every right to use ur money at ur own expense its just not practical..unless u have it like that. and i really dont like to change my things.as much as possible i wanna keep everything i own in use.so what happend? i was fixing my bed, i get the blanket to fold and what do u know..my phone falls off from the blanket..now i dropped my phone a couple of times and im notorious in doin that..but i guess this time it just gave up on me. i could live without having a phone for a while coz i dont pick up my calls anyway..its just that im goin to florida and im meeting karen in the airport (MIA) and basically we have to keep each other posted. so i really cant afford to not have a phone.so i went to a local tmobile dealership around my place and asked if i could upgrade to a new phone.and by that i mean the free phones.lolz..so since i got a motorolla already he gave me i guess the better version of what i had before.its a good thing since its almost the same features and i dont have to play with it alot to know whats goin on.

dIgIcAM-

now ive had my olympus digicam since 2003. there was a snowstorm in town when i bought that camera so it was really unforgettable for me.how my dad and i conquered that snowstorm just to get to best buy and pirchase the camera was really an experience alright..lolz..so anyway this just started yesterday..you know what happend(read the blog before this), so i was taking pics and all of a sudden the lens zoomed back in like i was shutting it off.now at first i thought the battery died out on me or something.when i got home i charged the battery and started viewing the pics.the problem was i couldnt take pics.i could view the pics but i cant take pictures.when i slide the lens cover the camera should automatically come on..but it wont.this really pissed me off. coz i didnt wanna buy a new camera.but of course everything has to happen when im about to go to vacation and of course there's no sense of goin if you dont have a camera to capture those unforgettable moments. i went to a place near my work to see if they repair digicams.they do repair but he said its better buying a new one. now i was goin to have it repaired regardless if i bought a new one coz i might as well give it to my bro(wow bait..kahit ayaw ko sa kanya). now he was showing me another olympus camera..but i think he was just jerking me off with the package.he was selling it to me for 200 which is not bad but the only thing i didnt like is that when i asked him if it comes with the memory card he said no..meanwhile when he opened the box the memory card was right inside the instruction packet. i didnt even have my credit card with me..well the major one..the one that i always use now.so i had to use my other one.for some reason it was declining the transaction..maybe it was a sign not to buy it from him. first of all i dont know why it was declining the purchase coz after i paid off my full balance with that card i havent used it at all.maybe thats why?coz i havent use the card in awhile?..but i never heard of such a thing.well anyway after that i went to my bank at and got myself some cash.lolz..and then i thought to myself, let me go to circuit city and just look around. to make the long story short i ended up buying a new olympus camera. its better than before .i upgraded to a 7.2 megapixel from a 3.0. i did have to buy a new memory card coz mine wasnt compatible with the new one.i mean it is but it will only take like 10 pics with the memory card that i was using.the girl was explaining all these technical chuvanes..lolz..which i really dont give a damn about..but she was very nice and accomodating. i wouldve hooked her up with my friend alan as well if he was still here eventhough she was only 21 but he likes 'em young anyways..lolz..which ended up opening another credit card account since i forgot my visa at home and citi card doesnt work.o well, lolz.i guess its another collection.as of now i feel like i have the camera for free since i used my new circuit city credit card which i got approved on right there and then.its amazing how they just approve u in like 5mins.the camera costs 250 and the memory card is 30 bucks. so not bad..the one i had before cost me 300 bucks and look at it now..one dysfunctional piece of $&!@

click on this to view my new digicam..lolz.. http://www.imaging-resource.com/PRODS/OS740/OS740A.HTM

first there was my cellphone, then the tornado, then my digicam..i'll be dammed if my ipod breaks next. i hope there will be no more surprises. i thought i had it cheap already for my vacation..lolz

EF-2 tornado

i read that official tornado records have been kept since 1950, and never was Brooklyn on them until just after 6:30 a.m. when one struck Bay Ridge. from the air it is obvious this was no ordinary storm. and to the ear, it was clear too that something was going on.what i thought at first sounded like the normal thunderstorms that u hear before it pours was nothing compared to what i had to wake up to. i woke up to the sound of a powerful tornado bearing down on our neighborhood.there was a point wherein the wind was so strong that i felt like it was going to rip the apartment off the ground. there was a news crew across the street from us . trees were uprooted and literally on the street and parked cars. everybody was outside. u think it was a block party but at 8 am.the weird thing was it was only bayridge and sunset park that was badly hit by this catastrophe(bklyn). i had to wait for the bus for 30 mins knowing that it wouldnt come, so i walked at least 25 blocks to go to work.so that tipped my day wayyy offff!!another surreal experience.

excited itich

i cannot..CAN-NOT..wait for the 23rd! shoot, i don't even wanna come in to work the 22nd.at first i wasn't excited to go to Florida, but now i AM so psyched! i cant wait till i walk the streets of south beach. i was only there in south beach once and by that i mean a couple of hours and i just had dinner with relatives.. .it was a surreal experience. so what is the itinerary for our stay over there?..well, there's the....

foul play

i really shouldn't be playing like this..but i just had to cancel our hotel reservation in Miami beach resort and spa.u know when u just have that gut feeling that the room is just going to be all wrong. i don't know why im acting like this.usually i could care less but then again this is my first vacation trip that I planned.its not like im goin with my family and they pay for the hotel or im just taggin along with my friends surfin like a freeloader.I'm actually paying for the hotel so i might as well find a decent one.im not saying that Miami beach resort and spa is not up to par but its a few miles from the heart of Miami which is south beach (SOBE) and i don't wanna be paying cab fares everyday of my stay there.karen and i did have plans to have a 'south beach day'..but then what?plus i read alot of not so good reviews about the hotel so that kinda freaked me out.i really should stop reading reviews now.

i hope this is it.i made a reservation at the palms hotel, Miami beach.it has a tropical vibe to it which is good in a way coz originally i wanted to go to Hawaii.plus they have the hammocks..lolz..plus its the palms..i was thinking about the palms hotel in Vegas..so it should be really nice. so whats the foul play about all this?...well i cancelled the first hotel reservation made WITHOUT karen's knowledge...i know..i should go to hell..and she would probably know about this while reading this piece..(my bad kai)..so yeah..just to let u know kai we are stayin in the palms..hope ur still smiling while reading this or else I'm really dead..dont worry its just a few dollars more than the other one..so instead of 306 each its going to be 361. i think we're really going to save more in this location knowing cab rides from Miami beach resort and spa going to south beach is like 30 bucks..come to think of it that 61 bucks is already our cab fee for our south beach day!so hope u'r not mad..

summer weekend 6&7

i didnt have time to write anything about summer weekend 6..nothing really happend that weekend. the only highlight was when i went to one of my co-worker's wedding. and im only talking about the church wedding coz it was around my place. i didnt even go to the reception because it was all the way in long island. other than that just the usual of doin the laundry and chillaxin.

summer weekend 7..i really wanted to just stay home friday nite coz talk about working overtime.i was really exhausted.when i got home i just wanted to drop dead in my bed but when i checked my cellphone(coz i left it home..again)..alan called..twice..now just to remind u this was my friend who moved to florida but never really got the chance to say our goodbyes coz...o yeah..i kept ditching him..im just glad that he didnt even ask about that time.i still cant believe he moved out of ny.but i guess that's life.and of course he's not getting any younger.lolz..(peace hommie). now eventhough i was dead tired, i had to wake myself up from my short-lived nap and hit the showers and get ready.we just went to the city and chilled at his friend's pad (where he's staying for 4 days), and who also owns a bar in the city. he's been talking about this bar forever so he showed me around the bar which was pretty cool.i wasnt really dress to kill that night with my casual top, jeans that were rolled up like capris, and flip flops and my fake eyeglasses...but i guess i could still get a free drink lookin like that if i wanted to..thanks to that guy that offered me one.lolz.but i knew we wouldnt stay for long coz even before steppin out of the car i told alan i needed to go home..coz it was around 2am already and i just wanted to go to bed.

at least this time we said our goodbyes.. but not for long..coz i just obliged him to pick me up from the airport in miami and drop me off the hotel when i go there for my vacation!!lolz! listen,if you got connections..use em..lolz..so really there's still a chance that i might see him ova there in 2 weeks. hopefully he does pick me up from the airport and save me sa cab money or wait for a stupid hotel shuttle.

its about time!

alas..i made up my mind!i actually made a decision where we are staying..yes people..I'm going with somebody.but calm down..its not with a guy which some of u probably assumed already after reading the latter sentence. at first i was hesitant to bring somebody with me for my vacation. im too independent that's what i think. sometimes i don't even want people around me..lolz...but i guess its good to have company once in a while..lolz..i decided to make use of my vacation days before the summer ends.i mean i have 5 left for the year. i used the other 5 when i went snowboarding this past February at Vermont..then the rest was when the doctors were on vacation or just wasn't in that day. that's another thing, i cant take a decent vacation .. i feel like i could only take off when the doctors are not in the office and it sucks coz i feel like i have to work around their schedule. but for the past few days i really could care less. i really need a break..a LONG one!

so who is this mystery person...her name is karen.i went to hs with her and i believe im ahead of her 2 years.i was a senior ,she was a sophmore. so in short she was my schoolmate.i couldn't really remember her at first when she added me in friendster.i actually thought she was one of my crush's ex gf..(which she's not)..i guess she was just one of those really shy and timid girls..(di ko lang alam ngaun ..hehehhe)..so i was thinking who i could bring that will be available and would also like the beach scene. i actually just tried my luck with her and what do u know...

we've been planning this for like 2 weeks now.first problemo..WHERE?i really wanted to go to Hawaii but i guess it was a short notice for her plus its too far..well not for her coz she's staying in Nebraska now..i mean its still far but compared to me...forget about it.plus its expensive. so next ..puerto Rico..but then its august and puerto rico is in the hurricane belt so that's done and over with. next..California..there's beaches over there plus I've been craving for jollibee(thats the only jollibee in the US) and i heard there's also red ribbon.plus i get to visit my hommies ova there.also i wanted to go to Los Angeles and hopefully meet somebody famous.but California is a big state and requires alot of driving..and I'm not one of those drivers that love to drive..u know..even if your lost already u still love the challenge of finding that place?..I'm not one of 'em.i only drive to places where i am familiar with..or if I'm with somebody that's familiar with the place and could guide me.but it would be her first time as well so that plan went to the trash.next was Vegas..see the infamous Vegas strip, Elvis impersonators, entertainment shows, and the party scene. i would probably do it some other time..but i don't think i will be able to relax in a city like Vegas. so Florida it is..

i finally booked my flight last night..online..thank God i got the last ticket coz its round about the same time that karen will be in MIA(miami intl airport) and its just perfect for checking in the hotel.this is actually the first time ima be travelling within the US by plane so I'm pretty psyched about that.I've been all over the east coast and Canada ..by car..yes..long driving ito..the last time i was in Florida was back in 2002. this is actually my 3rd time in Florida.but this time i wont be visiting relatives, i wont be there with family, and i wont be going to Disney world and universal studios.LOL. this time ima be in the heart of Miami beach..and 20mins from southbeach. i also just booked the hotel like an hour ago.we're staying in Miami beach resort and spa.(click on the title of this post to see where we are staying).its 5 days 4 nights.private access to the beach..water activities, and i got the bed and breakfast package. its so funny coz when i called the hotel i was just going to inquire coz at that time i still haven't figured out where to stay..(eventhough ive been searching for 3 days non stop..sleeping at 130am) i mean we could stay in the heart of southbeach but i just wanted to be away from the busy streets and be in a peaceful, calm environment. and maybe because there's a lot of places to stay and pick from. as i was asking the receptionist about the hotel i might as well book it..coz i will just never stop looking for hotels..i guess what really freaked me out was when i was reading the reviews about the hotel online...some people gave it a 2 thumbs up and some weren't so fond of the place..so i told the lady that i was speaking with to give me a room that's newly renovated and not one of those beat up old rooms.

finally its all set..i cant wait!

flirting or cheating?

this is actually one of the bulletins posted on my friendster account. its an interesting piece.check it out.

Here's how guys tend to define the
murkier areas of fidelity. Don't like
it? Then talk about it now before he
steps across a line he didn't know
existed.

* Flirting or Cheating? Looking at
another woman?

It's one thing if his tongue drops
to the floor in your presence; that's
just plain disrespectful (though 80
percent of men have admitted to looking
at other women even with their wives or
girlfriends around). But cheating?
Hardly. Men think there's a huge
difference between thinking and acting.
"We have two sides--the committed
husband/boyfriend and the 'check out
the
hottie' side. In men, the committed
wins
out, but the checker always exists,"
says one man who responded to the
Harris
poll I used when researching the book.
(And ladies, don't even try to tell me
you haven't had more than a couple of
thoughts and conversations about
whether
McDreamy or McSteamy is hotter.)

* Flirting or Cheating? E-mailing an
ex?

The e-mail exchange per se isn't a
cheat (depending on exactly what's
exchanged, of course). But, for many
people, any contact beyond a few truly
platonic and innocent "just catching
up"
messages is a relationship-killer-not
because of the act itself, but because
of the potential act that may follow.
About 60 percent of guys consider
dinner
and drinks with an ex as cheating.
Looking her up online? Only 20 percent
of us would classify that as a
relationship no-no.

* Flirting or Cheating? Hanging out
with the women at work?

Here's the real relationship
danger zone: About 50 percent of guys
consider having dinner and drinks with
an attractive co-worker as cheating.
But
the more troubling stat for you may be
this one: One in five men says that he
secretly loves his platonic (for now)
coworker. Just look at Jim and Pam on
The Office, and you know exactly what
I'm talking about. That's not meant to
scare you-more just to make sure you
keep your eyes open (as if you don't
already) and intentions honorable.

* Flirting or Cheating? Kissing
another woman?

Some guys may try to wiggle out of
a drunken kiss with a stranger (or
coworker, in the cloakroon, at the
Christmas party) as a one-time-only
event. But the true test about whether
a
guy thinks something is cheating is
whether he'd be ok with the situation
reversed. Guys don't want their women
exchanging lip balm (or any thing else
physical) with another guy, and nearly
90 percent of guys agree that their own
drunken hook-up with a stranger is
indeed off-limits.

* Flirting or Cheating? Going to a
strip club?

The good news for those of you who
are anti-exotic dancer: Half of men
think that visiting a strip club is
cheating. The other half? Going to a
strip club is like going to a sporting
event-there's lots of entertainment,
lots of excitement, and lots of
interest
in watching the most talented players
in
action. In the poll, many men said that
they feel there's no harm in
once-in-a-while visits since there's no
emotional attachment and only
temporary,
artificial physical attraction.
"Sometimes, to be blunt about it," one
man responded in the poll, "it's just a
bit of art appreciation, and it's nice
to see another woman naked."
